Promo Mechanics

  1. The 2025 Metrobank World Mastercard New Members eGift Promo (“Promo”) shall run from April 1, 2025 to July 31, 2025, extended until September 30, 2025 (“Promo Period” or “Card Application Period) only.

  2. The Promo is open to newly approved and qualified principal Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (“Metrobank”) credit cardholders (“Cardholders”) who:

    a. Have applied and submitted complete application requirements within the Promo Period for Metrobank World Mastercard and were subsequently approved;

    b. Do not have an existing or cancelled principal credit card issued by Metrobank and have not had one in the last six (6) months.

  3. A cardholder may only qualify for one (1) acquisition promo at any given time, unless directly stated in the mechanics of other promos.

    a. If a Cardholder qualifies for two (2) or more credit cards under different acquisition promos within the same Promo Period, he/she will only be entitled to the special offer of the first credit card approved.

    b. If a Cardholder already qualified under another acquisition promo during the same Promo Period, he/she will no longer be able to participate in this Promo.

  4. Qualified Cardholders must accumulate the required minimum Valid Spend on their new Metrobank World Mastercard within the required Spend Period below:

    c. Valid spend shall only include the following posted transactions below:

    • Retail purchases (inclusive of domestic, international & online transactions),

    • Merchant installment transactions (inclusive of domestic, international & online transactions, covering only the principal amount of transactions approved within the Spend Period),

    • Bills2Pay; PayBills,

    • Transactions made by supplementary cardholders will be included in the computation of the principal Cardholder’s minimum spend requirement;

    d. The following transactions and fees will not be considered as valid spend:

    • Card fees,

    • Cash advance and cash advance fees,

    • Send money and send money fees,

    • Loans and loan charges,

    • Balance conversion and balance conversion charges,

    • Balance transfer and balance transfer charges

    • Cash2go and Cash2go charges

    • Interest charges,

    • Late payment charges,

    • PayNow & PayNow fees,

    • Recurring payments,

    • Transactions with credit adjustments resulting from merchant-initiated credit adjustments and transaction disputes,

    • Quasi-cash transactions (e.g. funding Grabpay or Maya Wallet),

    • Other miscellaneous fees;

  5. Qualified cardholders who meet the minimum accumulated valid spend requirement will receive an SMS message from Giftaway confirming that they can already redeem the New Members eGift.

    a. The SMS will be sent within 14 calendar days from the start of the redemption period confirming that they have successfully met the Promo requirements.

    b. They must follow the redemption procedure below:

    Note: They will be redirected to the Giftaway website, an external website owned by Metrobank’s third party provider.

    • From the redemption page, qualified Cardholders should provide their Metrobank-registered mobile number and agree that such information will be subject to the Confidentiality, Data Privacy and Security Policy/Terms of the e-gift provider, Giftaway Inc., and is subject further to the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (R.A. No. 10173).

    Note: The redemption page will never ask for the card number, expiry date, or CVV.

    • Cardholders will receive a one-time password that they would need to input on the page.

    • Once successfully entered, users will be redirected to a page displaying all Metrobank Credit Card promos they are eligible to.

    • Cardholder must search for ‘Welcome 2025’.

    • Cardholder must click the page and see his Credit Card Product Type & transactions.

    • Cardholder must click “REDEEM NOW”, after which CH will be redirected to a page with their eGift details containing the eGift Codes.
      • eGCs are issued in PHP 1,000 denominations.
        • Any unused balance from eGC redemption is forfeited.
        • For example, redeeming a PHP 9,750 item requires ten (10) eGCs, forfeiting PHP 250. Alternatively, cardholders can use nine (9) eGCs and pay the remaining PHP 750 in cash.
    • The eGift Codes must be used within 30 days upon redemption.

    • Cardholder must click ‘USE’ to see the list of redeemable merchants.

    • A pop-up will appear to show the Giftaway partner merchants and they must select their preference (e.g. Gcash, SM Gift Pass, etc.).

    • Once they’ve selected a merchant, customer needs to follow the terms and conditions that will show on their screen.

    • Non-redemption / non-conversion will result to forfeiture of your gift.

    • The universal eGift Certificate is subject to the terms and conditions of Giftaway, Metrobank’s third party provider and Giftaway’s partner merchants.

    Note: Cardholder will shoulder the GCash/Lazada top up convenience/processing fee if he/she chooses this option

  6. Cardholders must maintain a good credit standing of his/her principal credit card to avoid getting disqualified from receiving their eGift. Credit card accounts must be current and active until the awarding date of the eGift.

  7. eGifts cannot be exchanged for rewards points, cash, other products or discounts.

  8. Should there be any change/s in the cardholder’s Metrobank-registered mobile number, it is the responsibility of the Cardholder to update his/her contact information by calling the Metrobank Customer Service Hotline at (02) 88-700-700 or send an email to our Customer Service at customerservice@metrobankcard.com

  9. In the event that the Cardholder requests for an upgrade, conversion, cancellation or any change to the qualified credit card at any time within the promo and redemption period, they will be disqualified from the promo and the corresponding amount of P2, 500 credited to the cardholder will be charged to the customer. The promo is non-transferable and will not be carried over to the newly upgraded, converted, or changed credit card.

  10. Metrobank reserves the right to disqualify any Cardholder from further participation in this Promo if the Cardholder is delinquent, defaults in his/her payment or, if in Metrobank’s judgment, the said Cardholder has violated these Terms & Conditions and/or the Metrobank Credit Card Terms and Conditions.

  11. Metrobank reserves the right to disqualify a previously approved transaction that was cancelled or charged back within the Promo Period. Should a Cardholder receive the New Member eGift, but was later on deemed unqualified for not meeting the requirements of the incentive due to disputes arising from, but not limited to, erroneous, invalid, fraudulent or unauthorized transactions, the cost of the gift (P10, 000) shall be charged by Metrobank to the cardholder’s credit card within 30 days.

  12. All questions or disputes regarding the Cardholder’s eligibility for the Promo or for any redemption shall be resolved by Metrobank, at its discretion, with the concurrence of the DTI. All inquiries and disputes related to the Promo must be submitted no later than December 31, 2025. Beyond this period, Metrobank will no longer accept or process any claims.

  13. All credit card applications shall be subject to Metrobank’s final approval and applicable terms and conditions. Cardholders shall be notified of the credit decision via SMS or email. The Cardholder and co-obligor, if any, authorize Metrobank to issue, at its discretion, the appropriate credit card product/s in case they are qualified for membership after due credit evaluation has been done

  14. Any dispute concerning the products or services availed to meet the spend requirement shall be settled directly between the cardholder and the appropriate merchant with the concurrence of the DTI. Metrobank shall be free from liability in the event of such dispute.

  15. The use of the Metrobank Card in connection with the Promo is subject to the Metrobank Credit Card Terms and Conditions.

  16. All installment purchases are subject to the Terms and Conditions governing the issuance and use of Metrobank credit cards and all related provisions of the Metrobank credit card 0% installment program.

  17. Employees of Metrobank are disqualified to join this Promo.

  18. By joining or availing of this Promo, the Cardholder confirms that he/she has read, understood and agreed to the promo mechanics and these Terms and Conditions.
