The “Metrobank Visa Choose Your Welcome Gift 2024” promo (the “Promo”) shall run from March 1, 2024 to July 31, 2024 (“Promo Period” or “Card Application Period”).
The Promo is open to newly approved and qualified principal Metrobank credit card cardholders (“Cardholders”) who:
a. Have applied and submitted complete application requirements within the Promo Period and were subsequently approved for the following credit card types: - Metrobank Cashback Visa - Metrobank Travel Platinum Visa
b. Do not have an existing or cancelled principal credit card issued by Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (“Metrobank”) and have not had one in the last six (6) months;
All credit card applications shall be subject to Metrobank’s final approval and credit card terms and conditions. Cardholders shall be notified of the credit decision via SMS or email. The Card Member and co-obligor, if any, authorize Metrobank to issue, at its discretion, the appropriate Credit Card product/s in case the Card Member is qualified for membership after due credit evaluation has been done, even without the written conformity of, or notice to the co-obligor.
A Cardholder may only qualify for one acquisition promo at any given time, unless directly stated in the mechanics of other promos. If a Cardholder qualifies for two (2) or more credit cards under different acquisition promos within the same promo period, he/she will be entitled to only one Welcome Gift. If a Cardholder qualifies under another acquisition promo during the same promo period, they will no longer be able to participate in this Promo. In this scenario, the eligible reward will be based on the first promo which the Cardholder was able to qualify for based on Metrobank’s determination.
Qualified cardholders have the chance to choose their preferred Welcome Gift. They must meet the corresponding accumulated spend requirements to receive their Welcome Gift of choice from Metrobank.

All Cardholders who meet the minimum spend requirement for Rewards Points within the 90 calendar days from card approval date will receive a confirmation message either thru Viber or SMS, and/or email (“EDM”), informing them that they can already redeem their Rewards Points and instructions on how to claim.
Cardholders will have the option to claim the reward, but will be informed that they can also waive eligibility to Rewards Points redemption and opt for the annual fee waiver.
If the Cardholder prefers Rewards Points, he/she must complete the redemption process from Metrobank.
Cardholders who prefer to have their annual fee waived should not claim the Rewards Points and should meet the annual minimum accumulated valid spend requirement for their respective card. No other action than this will be needed from cardholders to qualify for the annual fee waiver.
Cardholders who intentionally did not redeem, fail to redeem, or otherwise fail to reach the minimum spend for Rewards Points within the 90 calendar days from card approval date will automatically be qualified for the annual fee waiver subject to the latter’s minimum annual spend requirements.
Only one (1) Welcome Gift will be given to each qualified principal Cardholder for this Promo. Supplementary cardholders shall not be qualified for the Welcome Gift.
Specific Terms & Conditions for Rewards Points
For Cardholders who will choose to redeem Rewards Points:
CARDED WITH OTHER BANKS Qualified Cardholders with existing and active principal credit card/s with another bank/s in good crediting standing will receive higher Rewards Points as Welcome Gift upon meeting the required minimum accumulated valid and qualified spend transactions within the 90 calendar days from card approval date.

Qualified cardholders without existing principal credit card/s with another bank/s will receive the rewards points below subject to a minimum accumulated valid and qualified spend transactions within the 90 calendar days from card approval date.

Valid spend includes posted transactions below:

b. Merchant installment transactions (inclusive of domestic, international & online transactions, covering only the principal amount of transactions approved within the Spend Period)

d. Bills2Pay
The following transactions and fees will not be considered as valid spend:
a. Card fees
b. Annual fees
c. Cash advance and cash advance fees
d. Balance transfer and balance transfer charges
e. Loans and loan charges
f. Cash2go and Cash2go charges
g. Balance conversion and balance conversion charges
h. Interest charges
i. Late payment charges
j. PayNow & PayNow fees
k. Recurring payments
l. The transactions with credit adjustments resulting from merchant-initiated credit adjustments and transaction disputes
m. Other miscellaneous fees
Qualified Cardholders who meet the minimum accumulated valid spend requirement will receive a message via Viber, SMS or EDM confirming his/her eligibility to receive the Rewards Points within 30 calendar days after meeting the spend requirement. They must follow the redemption procedure.
To redeem the Rewards Points, the Cardholder must
Rewards Points will be credited to the Cardholder’s credit card account within 30 calendar days from the time Cardholders click on the “CLAIM” button in the redemption page.
Only Cardholders who have successfully claimed their reward will receive the Rewards Points.
Cardholders must redeem the Rewards Points within sixty (60) calendar days from release of the first confirmation message or before the redemption expiry date indicated in the confirmation message. After which, the unredeemed Rewards Points will automatically be forfeited.
Cardholders must maintain a good credit standing of his/her principal credit card to avoid getting disqualified from receiving their Rewards Points. Credit card accounts must be current and active until the awarding date of the Rewards Points.
Redeemed Rewards Points can be converted to any item from the Metrobank Card Rewards Catalogue such as air miles conversion, cash credit, or electronic gift certificates.
Qualified Cardholders entitled for the Promo may redeem and convert the Rewards Points to air miles from our existing airline partners in the Rewards Catalogue. Conversion rates for this promo were computed based on PAL’s Mabuhay Airline table of airmiles conversion as of July 2023.
Cap for air miles redemption will be waived for qualified Cardholders for this promo until December 31, 2025. Redemptions made after December 31, 2025 will be subject to the prevailing redemption cap.
For Rewards Points converted to airmiles, the Cardholder holds the responsibility in coordinating the conversion of airmiles to airline tickets with their preferred airline company. Rewards Points converted to airmiles does not include travel fees or accommodation to the preferred destination of the cardholder. To convert the points to reward items, the Cardholder may call the Metrobank Customer Service Hotline at (02) 88-700-700.
The preferred airline, and not Metrobank, has the sole discretion over changes in airline conversion to actual tickets. The relevant terms and conditions of the preferred airline shall apply.
The Rewards Points cannot be exchanged for cash, other products or discounts, and are valid until fully consumed.
Specific Terms & Conditions for the Annual Waiving of Membership Fee For Cardholders who will choose to get the annual fee waiver:

Qualified Cardholders must accumulate valid and qualified annual spend within twelve (12) months starting from their card anniversary date until one (1) calendar day prior to their next anniversary date.
To illustrate:
a. Principal Cardholder’s credit card application was approved on March 17, 2024 (“Anniversary Date”), and by virtue of Metrobank’s non-promo offer, annual fee is waived for the first year by default. Cardholders will therefore not be charged for the annual fee of their corresponding credit card type for the first year.
b. The “Metrobank Visa Choose Your Welcome Gift” Annual Fee Waiver Spend Period will begin March 17, 2024 until March 16, 2025.
c. If the principal Cardholder meets the annual spend requirement based on his/her approved card type, then he/she will receive an annual fee waiver for the succeeding year and does not need to pay the annual fee on the cycle of March 17, 2025. The following year, another annual spend period will be from March 17, 2025 until March 16, 2026.
d. If the principal Cardholder meets the annual spend requirement, he/she will not need to pay the annual fee on March 17, 2026.
e. This waiver will recur annually provided the annual spend requirements are met.
Valid spend includes posted transactions below:
a. Straight retail transactions
b. Online transactions
c. Bills2Pay
d. Cash Advance
e. Balance Transfer & Cash2Go (only the amortized principal amount posted within 12 months from card approval will be considered as valid annual spend)
f. Transactions made by supplementary cardholders will be included in the computation of principal cardholder’s annual spend
The following transactions and fees will not be considered as valid spend:
a. Add-on interest
b. Fees and charges
c. Balance Conversion installments
d. PayNow
e. The transactions with credit adjustments resulting from merchant-initiated credit adjustments and transaction disputes
The posting date of the transactions will be the basis of qualification for purposes of the annual spend requirement.
Charges for annual fees shall remain and will be reflected on the principal Cardholder’s statement of account on their card anniversary date if (a) the principal Cardholder does not meet the required minimum annual valid spend, or (b) the principal credit card is not current or active by the time the annual fee is to be waived.
At any time, Metrobank shall have the authority to increase the required amount of annual spend and change the type of valid spend transactions to be considered with notice.
Only the principal Cardholder can qualify for the annual fee waiver in relation to this promo. Annual fees of supplementary cardholders will not be waived even if the principal Cardholder meets the required annual spend.
The annual fee waiver is non-transferrable, and cannot be converted or exchanged for cash, credit, benefit, advantage, or any property.
The award or non-award of the annual fee waiver to the principal Cardholder by Metrobank is considered final.
In the event that the principal Cardholder cancels his/her Metrobank credit card within twelve (12) months from the card approval date, Metrobank reserves the right to charge the equivalent pro-rated amount of the annual fee.
Other Terms & Conditions
Should there be any change/s in the cardholder’s Metrobank-registered mobile number, it is the responsibility of the Cardholder to update his/her contact information by calling the Metrobank Customer Service Hotline at (02) 88-700-700.
Metrobank reserves the right to disqualify any Cardholder from further participation in this Promo if the Cardholder is delinquent, defaults in his/her payment or, if in Metrobank’s judgment, the said Cardholder has violated these Terms and Conditions and/or the Terms and Conditions governing the issuance and use of his/her Metrobank credit card.
Metrobank will no longer accommodate Cardholders’ requests for re-sending of the confirmation message due to reasons such as, but not limited to, the following:
a. The message was sent successfully to the principal Cardholder, but was accidentally or purposely deleted by the Cardholder, members of his/her family or friends or due to any upgrading or reformatting done to the Cardholder’s device; or
b. Lost, stolen, or defective device; or
c. The message was sent successfully to the principal Cardholder’s mobile number maintained in Metrobank’s database during the Promo and Redemption Period, but the number is no longer in use and the Cardholder failed to update Metrobank.
Cardholders may contact Metrobank’s Customer Service Hotline at (02)88-700-700 to request for validation of the message and/or redemption link.
Metrobank reserves the right to disqualify a previously approved transaction that was cancelled or charged back within the Promo Period. If the Welcome Gift has been awarded, but was later on deemed unqualified for not meeting the requirements of the Promo due to disputes arising from, but not limited to, erroneous, invalid, fraudulent or unauthorized transactions, the cost of the Welcome Gift shall be charged by Metrobank to the Cardholder’s credit card account.
Any conversion, upgrade, or change in the original card type approved will disqualify the Cardholder from receiving the Rewards Points or qualifying for the waived annual fees.
In case of questions or disputes regarding the Cardholder’s eligibility for the Promo or for any redemption, the decision of Metrobank, with the concurrence of DTI, shall be final.
Any dispute concerning the products or services related to the Promo shall be settled directly between the cardholder and the appropriate merchant, with the concurrence of the DTI, and Metrobank shall be free and harmless from any liability in the event of such dispute.
Any dispute related to cardholder’s availment of any promo shall not be a valid reason for non-payment of the Cardholder’s credit card bill or outstanding balance. Hence, all accrued charges on the credit card shall be for the account of the Cardholder.
Employees of Metrobank are disqualified to join this Promo.
The terms and conditions governing the issuance and use of Metrobank credit cards, reminders and other provisions contained in the card carrier, statement of account, charge slips and other documents or instruments, which are made an integral part hereof by reference, shall likewise be resorted to in instances where they are applicable in this Promo.
The use of the Metrobank credit card in connection with this Promo is subject to the Terms and Conditions governing the issuance and use of Metrobank credit card.
By joining or availing of this promo, the Cardholder confirms that he/she has read, understood and agreed to the promo mechanics and its terms and conditions.

Are all newly approved Metrobank Travel Platinum Visa or Cashback Visa entitled to qualify for this promo?
No, only new to Metrobank credit cardholders who applied and got approved for a principal Metrobank Travel Platinum Visa or Cashback Visa will be qualified (see item 2 in promo mechanics for full qualification requirements).
I have an existing credit card with another bank but I missed some payments (not in good credit standing), will I be able to qualify for higher Rewards Points?
No. You need to have an existing principal credit card with another bank in good credit standing to qualify for the promo.
I have an existing supplementary card with Metrobank Credit Card and applied for a principal Metrobank Travel Platinum Visa or Cashback Visa, will I still be eligible to this promo?
Yes, since this will be your first principal Metrobank Credit Card. This will still be subject to other terms & conditions. Kindly ensure you read through the promo mechanics.
I have an existing supplementary credit card with another bank, am I qualified for higher Rewards Points?
No. Only those who have principal credit card with another bank in good credit standing will be qualified for the higher Rewards Points in relation to this promo.
My card was delivered late. May I request for extension of spend period?
Yes, but subject for assessment and review. Kindly call us at (02) 88-700-700 or email customerservice@metrobankcard.com so we can assist you.
How are my installment transactions computed against the spend requirement?
If you used your card for 0% installment for 12 months to buy a new phone, with principal amount of ₱120,000 within your eligible spend period, the full amount will be considered as a valid spend.
Is there a way for me to see my progress in terms of accumulating valid spend transactions?
Yes, you can. You will be able to check your progress in terms of reaching the minimum spend requirement via the same link for redemption. They will need to:
a. Visit the redemption link: metrobankcard.mymcc.gift
b. Login with your registered mobile number, input the OTP which will be sent to you.
c. Once you’re logged in, you will need to search for ‘Choose Your Welcome Gift 2024’ in the Promos and click on ‘Check Progress’.
Note: Progress is updated in the system weekly. In case you don’t see your latest spend transactions, kindly wait for 7-10 days for the spend tracker to be updated.
I didn’t receive a message regarding my eligibility to the promo or that I can redeem my points after reaching the minimum spend requirement within the spend period of 90 days, what do I do?
a. If you have just met the spend requirement - Kindly allow 7-15 days for us to validate your spend transactions. We’ll be sending the SMS thereafter within the next 15-21 days (Per promo mechanics, SMS will be sent within 30 days upon reaching min. spend).
b. If you already met the spend and more than 30 days have passed – Kindly reach out to us immediately at (02) 88-700-700 or email customerservice@metrobankcard.com so we can assist you.
May I qualify for both the rewards points and no annual fees?
No. But you have the flexibility to pick one, whichever is your preferred welcome gift.
I want to get waived annual fees, and I’m okay to forfeit the Rewards Points but I received a message telling me to already claim the points? What do I need to do so I can get no annual fees instead?
If you prefer the no annual fees, do not claim the Rewards Points from Giftaway website and make sure you meet the minimum annual spend requirement.
I want the rewards points, already met the spend and received a message that I can now redeem my Rewards Points, until when can I claim?
My friend accidentally deleted the message from Metrobank when she borrowed my phone, may I request for SMS to be resent to me?
Unfortunately, we may no longer accommodate re-sending requests for reasons such as, but not limited to the following reasons:
a. SMS sent successfully to the principal cardholder but were accidentally deleted by the cardholder, members of their family or friends or due to upgrade or reformatting done to the cardholder’s mobile device;
b. Due to loss, stolen, or defective mobile device;
c. You changed your mobile number but failed to have it updated by Metrobank in their system.
Until when can I consume the redeemed welcome Rewards Points?
Redeemed Rewards Points are valid until fully consumed.
For the Rewards Points, when will the points be credited to my account?
Welcome rewards will be credited to the new Metrobank credit card after 30 calendar days from date of redemption (redemption refers to the clicking of the redeem button in the redemption platform).
For the welcome Rewards Points, is the cap for airmiles and cashback redemption applicable?
No. Cap for airmiles and cashback card rebate redemption will be waived for qualified customers for this promo until December 31, 2024. Redemptions made after December 31, 2024 will be subject to the prevailing redemption cap.
For the Cashback Visa Rewards Points, how do I redeem the rebates?
All welcome rewards will be credited to the account as Rewards Points, even for Cashback Visa. You will have to request for the conversion of the Rewards Points to rebates via our customer service, (02) 88-700-700 or email customerservice@metrobankcard.com so we can assist you.
I wasn’t able to meet the spend requirement during my first year, and got charged with annual fee on my next anniversary date (E.g. card approval by Mar 1, 2024, next anniversary date Mar 1, 2025), do I still get to have my next annual fee waived?
Yes, just ensure that you meet the minimum annual spend requirement from Mar 1, 2025 to Feb 28, 2026 to get your annual fees waived on your next anniversary date: Mar 1, 2026.
I chose Rewards Points, where are my free trip tickets?
Welcome gift: Option 1 is awarded through reward points. You will need to request for the conversion of these reward points to airmiles. Please also coordinate the conversion of air miles to airline tickets with your preferred airline company (Based on PAL rewards table as of July 2023).
I chose Rewards Points, may I choose any destination?
Yes, you may choose any destination as long as it is within the converted airmiles awarded to you.
What if I did not meet the annual spend requirement?
Annual fee will be charged to the account on your next card anniversary date.
Are the supplementary cards included in the waived annual fees?
No. Only principal cardholders are included for waived annual fees in relation to this promo.
