Promo Mechanics

  1. The Triple Bonus Promo (“Promo”) is from May 9 to June 30, 2025 and is extended until August 31, 2025 (“Promo Period”), as approved by DTI-FTEB.

  2. The Promo is open to all new individual clients who open a peso savings or checking account for the first time with Metrobank via branch or an eSavings account via the Metrobank App or Earnest App during the Promo Period.

  3. To qualify, the client must:

    a. Open a peso savings or checking account within the Promo Period;

    b. Register* an active email and mobile number with Metrobank upon account opening; and

    *To receive updates about the Promo, clients must ensure their registered email address and mobile number with Metrobank are updated and active. Contact information can be updated by visiting any Metrobank branch or by following the instructions here: https://www.metrobank.com.ph/articles/update-your-mb-contact-info-online.

    c. Make cumulative deposits of at least PHP 50,000 within the Deposit Period and maintain it as Average Daily Balance (ADB) for at least six (6) months to qualify for the cash gift and up to twelve (12) months to avail of the InstaPay rebates and free insurance.

  4. Qualified clients will be entitled to the following rewards:

    a. A one-time cash gift of PHP 1,500 to be awarded if they opt to maintain a PHP 50,000 ADB for 6 consecutive months.

    b. Rebate for ten (10) Send Money transaction fees via InstaPay on the Metrobank App or Metrobank Online per month for 12 months, provided they maintain a PHP 50,000 monthly ADB during the same 12-month period.

    c. Free AXA Accident Insurance worth PHP 1,000,000 valid for 12 months, provided they maintain a PHP 50,000 monthly ADB during the same 12-month period.

    The 6-month and 12-month ADB Maintaining Period will start only after the Deposit Period has concluded, regardless of whether the PHP 50,000 was deposited in full upon account opening or cumulatively within the Deposit Period.

  5. Qualified clients will receive a Welcome SMS or email notification from Metrobank confirming their Promo eligibility within 7 to 10 banking days after account opening. Promo eligibility is subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Promo.

Terms & Conditions

  1. The Promo is available exclusively to new individual clients who open any savings or checking account for the first time with Metrobank during the Promo Period.

  2. The promo is valid for Metrobank Peso Savings and Checking accounts opened at any Metrobank branch nationwide or eSavings accounts opened online via the Earnest App and upon availability, via the Metrobank App.

  3. The promo will apply to eSavings account opening via the Metrobank app upon service availability during the Promo Period.

  4. Clients with existing Metrobank credit card, loan, or cross-sold insurance products who do not have a Metrobank Peso Savings or Checking account yet are eligible to join the promo.

  5. For Joint-Or/And and ‘In-trust-for’ accounts, both depositors must be new Metrobank deposit clients to qualify for the promo. Only the primary accountholder will receive the rewards from the promo.

  6. Payroll accounts are excluded from the promo. However, existing payroll account holders who will open a Metrobank Savings or Checking account for the first time within the promo period for non-payroll purposes are eligible to participate in the promo.

  7. Each client can only avail of the promo once, regardless of the number of deposit accounts opened within the promo period.

  8. The standard initial deposit and maintaining balance requirements for Metrobank deposit accounts still apply. However, to qualify for this promo, a PHP 50,000 deposit must be made either in full upon account opening or cumulatively within the Deposit Period*.

  9. The PHP 50,000 cumulative deposits must be maintained as ADB within the 6-month ADB Maintaining Period*** as indicated in the table below to be eligible for the cash gift. The PHP 1,500 cash gift will be credited to the client’s account within the specified Cash Gift Crediting Dates**** below, provided that the 6-month ADB Maintaining Period*** has been completed:

  10. The Average Daily Balance or ADB is the average ending balance in a client’s account over a given month. It is computed by adding the ending balance for each day of the month and dividing the total by the number of days in that month.

    ADB COMPUTATION

  11. The ADB Maintaining Period will start only after the Deposit Period* has concluded, regardless of whether the Php50,000 was deposited in full upon account opening or cumulatively within the Deposit Period*.

  12. Semi-verified Metrobank eSavings accounts are subject to a maximum deposit of Php30,000. Once full verification is completed within seven (7) days, clients may deposit into their eSavings accounts without limit. Clients whose eSavings accounts have failed the full verification process will be notified by Metrobank and will be asked to withdraw their deposit before account closure.

  13. The rebate for Send Money transaction fees is subject to the following conditions:

    a. Clients are entitled to receive up to 10 InstaPay transaction rebates per month for 12 months, beginning on the Start Date of ADB Maintaining Period**.

    b. A PHP 25.00 InstaPay transaction fee will initially be charged to the client’s account for every Send Money transaction above PHP 1,000. This fee will be credited back to the client’s account as a rebate within 10-15 banking days of the following month. Clients will receive an SMS notification confirming that the fee rebate has been successfully credited.

    c. The number of Send Money transactions eligible for a rebate will refresh at the start of each calendar month (e.g., if a client opens an account on the 15th of the month, the rebate count will reset on the 1st day of the following month).

    d. This offer can be continuously availed if the PHP 50,000 required deposit is maintained as ADB for 12 months from the Start Date of ADB Maintaining Period**

    e. InstaPay’s daily transfer limit of PHP 50,000 will apply.

  14. The free AXA Accident Insurance is subject to the following conditions:

    a. The free accident insurance coverage will take effect on the Start Date of ADB Maintaining Period**.

    b. The benefit applies exclusively to the primary Metrobank deposit accountholder and cannot be transferred or reassigned.

    c. Clients must be at least 18 years old but not more than 64 years old on their eligibility date and must be able to perform Activities of Daily Living namely, dressing, bathing, eating, toileting, mobility (transferring), and continence.

    d. This benefit can be continuously availed if the PHP 50,000 required deposit is maintained as ADB for 12 months from the Start Date of ADB Maintaining Period**.

    e. The insurance provides coverage for accidental death & disablement for up to PHP 1,000,000:

        i. The Accidental Death Benefit will be provided to the client in the event that bodily injury or death occurs within 180 days from the date of accident.

        ii. The Accidental Disablement Benefit will be provided to the client in the event that bodily injury results in permanent disablement and occurs within 180 days from the date of accident. The benefit amount will be determined based on the disablement, as specified in AXA’s terms and conditions.

    f) AXA Terms and Conditions apply.

  15. If a client is unable to deposit the required amount of at least Php50,000 within the Deposit Period* and fails to maintain the same amount as ADB within the 6-month ADB Maintaining Period***, s/he will not be eligible for the PHP 1,500 cash gift.

  16. If a client fails to maintain the Php50,000 ADB in any given month within the 12-month period, the rebate for Send Money transaction fees and the free insurance will be discontinued. The offers will be reinstated once the client meets the Php50,000 minimum ADB requirement again. However, the validity period will remain fixed at one year from Start Date of ADB Maintaining Period**. For the avoidance of doubt, a sample table of scenarios is provided below to illustrate these conditions:

  17. The client must provide a valid and active email address during account opening. Metrobank will not be held liable for any issues arising from invalid or inactive contact details, including the inability to receive advisories or updates related to this promo.

  18. Any amendment to the Terms and Conditions is subject to the approval of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). Clients will be notified of any changes through the appropriate channels.

  19. By participating in the Promo, the client agrees to follow the Promo Mechanics and these Terms and Conditions. Furthermore, the client consents to sharing of their contact information with AXA for the purpose of determining their eligibility for insurance availment.

  20. Any inquiries/dispute/complaints on client eligibility, the cash gift, and rebates will be settled directly between the client and Metrobank.

  21. Any inquiries/dispute/complaints on the free AXA accident insurance and claims process will be settled directly between the client and AXA Philippines.

  22. Deposits are insured by PDIC up to P1 Million per depositor.

  23. Metrobank is regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas https://www.bsp.gov.ph.



STEPS TO VERIFY AXA INSURANCE COVERAGE:

  1. A qualified client will receive a Welcome SMS or email from Metrobank, providing details about the benefits s/he is entitled to under the Terms and Conditions.

  2. The client will receive a separate Welcome email from AXA, including the details of the insurance coverage and the promo name, “Metrobank Triple Bonus Promo”.

  3. The client must take note of the promo name, “Metrobank Triple Bonus Promo”, as this is needed when filing an insurance claim, along with the client’s complete name.

  1. How will I know if I am eligible for the promo?

    You will receive a Welcome SMS or EDM from Metrobank confirming your successful account opening. This serves as an acknowledgement of your participation in the promo. Note that the eligibility for the rewards will still be subject to the T&Cs.

  2. Will I be notified of the InstaPay fee reversal?

    Yes, you will receive an SMS notification once the InstaPay fee reversal has been credited to your account, within 10-15 banking days of the following month.

  3. What are the benefits of the AXA insurance included in this promo?

    • Accidental Death Benefit - Pays benefit if the insured dies or suffers bodily injury within 180 days from the accident causing the death. Amount of Insurance: PHP 1,000,000
    • Accidental Disablement Benefit - Pays benefit if bodily injury results in permanent disablement to the insured within 180 days from the date of accident. AXA shall pay the amount corresponding to the Disablement as show in AXA’s terms and conditions

    Note: Benefits are valid for one year, provided a monthly Average Daily Balance (ADB) of P50,000 is maintained.

  4. What are the conditions for the AXA Insurance coverage?

    • You must maintain a monthly ADB of PHP 50,000 to keep your coverage active.
    • You must be at least 18 years old but not more than 64 years old on your eligibility date and must be able to perform Activities of Daily Living namely dressing, bathing, eating, toileting, mobility (transferring) and continence.
    • The free accident insurance coverage will take effect starting from the Start Date of ADB Maintaining Period**.

  5. Are Time Deposits considered a participating product to avail of the promo?

    No, Time Deposit is not included—only a Metrobank Peso Savings or Checking account is eligible for the promo.

  6. Why do I need to sign/agree with the Data Consent Form?

    For this promo, you need to sign the Data Consent Form in order for AXA to activate your insurance coverage. This is in compliance to the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) on the collection, access, use, disclosure, or other processing necessary to the purpose, function, or activity of personal data.

  7. Can I regain my eligibility for InstaPay and insurance benefits?

    Yes, your eligibility can be reinstated once you meet the PHP 50,000 ADB requirement in the next month. However, the validity period will remain fixed at one year from account opening.

  8. Are there any fees or penalties for reinstating InstaPay and insurance qualifications?

    There are no fees nor penalties for reinstatement as long as the ADB requirement is met.
