Promo Mechanics

The 2024-2025 Metrobank Titanium Mastercard Spend-based Fee Waiver (“Promo”) shall run from January 1, 2025 to March 31, 2025 (“Promo Period” or “Card Application Period) only.

The Promo is open to newly approved and qualified principal Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (“Metrobank”) Titanium Mastercard cardholders (“Cardholders”) who:

a. Have applied and submitted complete application requirements within the Promo Period and subsequently approved and;

b. Do not have an existing or cancelled principal credit card issued by Metrobank and have not had one in the last six (6) months prior to the Promo Period.

A cardholder may only qualify for one acquisition promo at any given time, unless directly stated in the mechanics of other promos. If a Cardholder qualifies for two (2) or more credit cards under different acquisition promos within the same Promo Period, he/she will only be entitled to the special offer for the first credit card approved. If a Cardholder already qualified under another acquisition promo during the same Promo Period, he/she will no longer be qualified to participate in this Promo.

The principal Cardholder’s annual fee of PHP 2,500 will be waived if the cardholder reaches the required minimum accumulated annual spend of One Hundred Eighty Thousand Pesos (PHP 180,000.00) (“Annual Spend”). The accumulation of the Annual Spend requirement shall be within twelve (12) months from the date of card approval and every twelve (12) months thereafter (“Spend Period”). Subject to prior notice, Metrobank may vary the annual spend requirement from year to year.

The posting date of the transactions will be the basis of qualification of transactions for the Annual Spend requirement. To illustrate:

a. Principal Cardholder’s credit card application was approved on January 16, 2025 (“Anniversary Date”), and by virtue of Metrobank’s non-promo offer, annual fee is waived for the first year by default. Cardholders will therefore not be charged for the annual fee of their corresponding credit card type for the first year.

b. The “2025 Metrobank Spend Based Fee Waiver for Titanium Mastercard Promo” Spend Period will begin from January 16, 2025 until January 15, 2026. If the principal Cardholder meets the Annual Spend requirement, then he/she will receive the annual fee waiver for the succeeding year and does not need to pay the annual fee on the cycle of January 16, 2026.

c. The following year, the annual valid spend computation will start from January 16, 2026 until January 15, 2027. If the principal Cardholder meets the annual spend requirement again, he/she will not need to pay the annual fee on January 16, 2027.

d. In the succeeding year, annual spend period will be from January 16, 2027 until January 15, 2028. If the principal Cardholder meets the annual spend requirement again, he/she will not need to pay the annual fee on January 16, 2028.

e. This waiver will recur annually provided the Annual Spend requirement is met.

If the principal Cardholder does not meet the required Annual Spend, he/she will be charged an annual fee of PHP 2,500. The corresponding annual fee will be reflected on the Cardholder’s statement of account after the Anniversary Date.

Valid spend in the Annual Spend computation shall only include the following posted transactions below:

a. Straight retail transactions

b. Online transactions

c. Bills2Pay or Paybills via MBOA

d. Cash Advance

e. Retail Installments & Special Installments such as Balance Transfer & Cash2Go, but only with respect to the amortized principal amount posted within the Spend Period
f. Valid transactions made by supplementary cardholders will be included in the computation of principal cardholder’s annual spend

The following transactions and fees will not be considered as valid spend:

a. Add-on interest

b. Fees and charges

c. Balance Conversion installments

d. PayNow

e. The transactions with credit adjustments resulting from merchant-initiated credit adjustments and transaction disputes

Only the principal Cardholder can qualify for the Promo. Annual fee of supplementary cardholders will not be waived under this Promo even if the principal Cardholder meets the Annual Spend requirement.

The Annual Fee Waiver is non-transferable, and cannot be converted or exchanged for cash, credit, benefit, advantage, or any property.

The computation of the Annual Spend and awarding of the Annual Fee Waiver to Cardholders by Metrobank is considered final.

In the event that the Cardholder requests for an upgrade or conversion of the qualified credit card in the future, the Annual Fee Waiver under this Promo will no longer apply. The Annual Fee Waiver cannot be transferred to the newly upgraded or converted credit card.

Metrobank reserves the right to disqualify any Cardholder from further participation in this Promo if the Cardholder has past due accounts with Metrobank, defaults in his/her payment or, if in Metrobank’s judgment, the said Cardholder has violated these Terms & Conditions and/or the Metrobank Credit Card Terms and Conditions.

Metrobank reserves the right to disqualify a previously approved transaction that was cancelled or charged back within the Promo Period. Should a Cardholder receive the Annual Fee Waiver, but was later on deemed unqualified for not meeting the requirements of the incentive due to disputes arising from, but not limited to, erroneous, invalid, fraudulent or unauthorized transactions, the cost of the annual fee shall be charged by Metrobank to the Cardholder’s credit card account upon the Anniversary Date of the card.

Employees of Metrobank are disqualified to join this Promo.

All questions or disputes regarding the Cardholder’s eligibility for the Promo or for any redemption shall be resolved by Metrobank, at its discretion, with the concurrence of the DTI.

In the event that the principal Cardholder cancels his/her Metrobank credit card within twelve (12) months from the card opening date, Metrobank reserves the right to charge the equivalent pro-rated amount of the annual fee.

All credit card applications shall be subject to Metrobank’s final approval and applicable terms and conditions. Cardholders shall be notified of the credit decision via SMS or email. The Cardholder and co-obligor, if any, authorize Metrobank to issue, at its discretion, the appropriate credit card product/s in case they are qualified for membership after due credit evaluation has been done.

Any dispute concerning the products or services availed to meet the spend requirement shall be settled directly between the cardholder and the appropriate merchant with the concurrence of the DTI.

The use of the Metrobank credit card in connection with the Promo is subject to the Metrobank Credit Card Terms and Conditions.

By joining or availing of this Promo, the Cardholder confirms that he/she has read, understood and agreed to the promo mechanics and these Terms and Conditions.
