The 2024 Metrobank Cashback Visa No Annual Fees Welcome Offer (“Promo”) shall run from November 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025 (“Promo Period” or “Card Application Period) only.

The Promo is open to newly approved and qualified principal Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (“Metrobank”) Cashback Visa cardholders (“Cardholders”) who:

a. Have applied and submitted complete application requirements within the Promo Period and were subsequently approved and;

b. Do not have an existing or cancelled principal credit card issued by Metrobank and have not had one in the last six (6) months prior to the Promo Period.

A cardholder may only qualify for one acquisition promo at any given time, unless directly stated in the mechanics of other promos. If a Cardholder qualifies for two (2) or more credit cards under different acquisition promos within the same Promo Period, he/she will only be entitled to the special offer of the first credit card approved. If a Cardholder already qualified under another acquisition promo during the same Promo Period, he/she will no longer be able to participate in this Promo.

Cardholders must activate and use their card for any qualified retail, online or installment transactions within sixty (60) days from card approval to qualify to the promo.

The Cardholder’s annual fee of PHP 3,500 will be waived if he/she reaches the required Minimum Annual Spend Requirement of PHP 250,000. Accumulation of valid Minimum Annual Spend Requirement shall be twelve (12) months from the date of card approval (“Spend Period”).

The posting date of the transactions will be the basis of qualification on the period allocated for the annual spend requirement.

To illustrate:

a. Principal Cardholder’s credit card application was approved on November 17, 2024 (“Anniversary Date”), and by virtue of Metrobank’s non-promo offer, annual fee is waived for the first year by default. Cardholders will therefore not be charged for the annual fee of their corresponding credit card type for the first year.

b. The “2024 Metrobank Cashback Visa No Annual Fees Welcome Offer” Annual Fee Waiver Spend Period will begin November 17, 2024 until November 16, 2025. If the principal Cardholder meets the annual spend requirement based on his/her approved card type, then he/she will receive an annual fee waiver for the succeeding year and does not need to pay the annual fee on the cycle of November 17, 2025.

c. The following year, the new annual spend period will be from November 17, 2025 until November 16, 2026. If the principal Cardholder meets the annual spend requirement, he/she will not need to pay the annual fee on November 17, 2026.

d. This waiver will recur annually provided the annual spend requirements are met.

Cardholders must maintain an annual spend of PHP 250,000 to get their annual fees waived. If the Cardholder does not meet the required Annual Spend of PHP 250,000.00, he/she will be charged an annual fee of PHP 3,500. Annual fee will be reflected on the Cardholder’s statement of account after the anniversary date.

Valid spend in the annual spend computation shall only include the following posted transactions below:

a. Straight retail transactions

b. Online transactions

c. Bills2Pay or Paybills via MBOA

d. Cash Advance

e. Retail Installments & Special Installments such as Balance Transfer & Cash2Go, but only the amortized principal amount posted within 12 months from card approval will be considered as valid annual spend

f. Transactions made by supplementary cardholders will be included in the computation of principal cardholder’s annual spend

The following transactions and fees will not be considered as valid spend:

a. Add-on interest

b. Fees and charges

c. Balance Conversion installments

d. PayNow

e. The transactions with credit adjustments resulting from merchant-initiated credit adjustments and transaction disputes

Only the principal cardholder can qualify for the Annual Fee Waiver. Annual fee of supplementary cardholders will not be waived under this Promo even if the principal cardholder meets the annual spend.

The Annual Fee Waiver is non-transferable, and cannot be converted or exchanged for cash, credit, benefit, advantage, or any property.

The computation of the Annual Spend and awarding of the Annual Fee Waiver to Cardholders by Metrobank is considered final.

At any time, subject to prior notice, Metrobank shall have the authority to increase the required amount of annual spend.

In the event that the Cardholder requests for an upgrade or conversion of the qualified card in the future, the Annual Fee Waiver under this Promo will no longer apply. The Annual Fee Waiver cannot be transferred to the newly upgraded or converted card.

Metrobank reserves the right to disqualify any Cardholder from further participation in this Promo if the Cardholder is delinquent, defaults in his/her payment or, if in Metrobank’s judgment, the said Cardholder has violated these Terms & Conditions and/or the Metrobank Credit Card Terms and Conditions.

Metrobank reserves the right to disqualify a previously approved transaction that was cancelled or charged back within the Promo Period. Should a Cardholder receive the Annual Fee Waiver, but was later on deemed unqualified for not meeting the requirements of the incentive due to disputes arising from, but not limited to, erroneous, invalid, fraudulent or unauthorized transactions, the cost of the annual fee shall be charged by Metrobank to the cardholder’s credit card account upon the anniversary date of the card.

Employees of Metrobank are disqualified to join this Promo.

All questions or disputes regarding the Cardholder’s eligibility for the Promo or for any redemption shall be resolved by Metrobank, at its discretion, with the concurrence of the DTI.

In the event that the principal Cardholder cancels his/her Metrobank credit card within twelve (12) months from the card opening date, Metrobank reserves the right to charge the equivalent pro-rated amount of the annual fee.

All credit card applications shall be subject to Metrobank’s final approval and applicable terms and conditions. Cardholders shall be notified of the credit decision via SMS or email. The Cardholder and co-obligor, if any, authorize Metrobank to issue, at its discretion, the appropriate credit card product/s in case they are qualified for membership after due credit evaluation has been done

Any dispute concerning the products or services availed to meet the spend requirement shall be settled directly between the cardholder and the appropriate merchant with the concurrence of the DTI. Metrobank shall be free from any liability in the event of such dispute.

The use of the Metrobank Card in connection with the Promo is subject to the Metrobank Credit Card Terms and Conditions.

By joining or availing of this Promo, the Cardholder confirms that he/she has read, understood and agreed to the promo mechanics and these Terms and Conditions.
